VALLEY SONS Southern Rock Band from Los Angeles, CA. Members: Kurt Custer (Former Lynyrd Skynyrd & Steve Earle Drummer/Vocalist) Kurt Custer (a.k.a. Custer) experienced success with Little America in the 80's. He recorded two albums with the band and toured with Kansas, Night Ranger and The Romantics. He met Steve Earle, through David Geffen and recorded 'Copperhead Road' which received platinum record status. The early 90's proved to be one of the biggest highlights of Kurt's career, as he became a member of the legendary Southern Rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd from 90'-94'. He recorded 'Lynyrd Skynyrd 1991' and 'The Last Rebel' both of which received gold record status. Custer has appeared on numerous television and MTV specials. Kurt was born in Torrance California. Robert Sims - Bass/Vocals "Music brought me to Los Angeles." Robert moved his way west, from Bay City Michigan in the late 80's. His musical journey started by playing weekly with local acts. Venues such as The Whiskey A Go Go and The Roxy Theatre were among his favorites. He has performed with some of L.A.'s finest, including guitarist Nalle Colt (Vintage Trouble). The next step was songwriting. He began recording his music, with guidance from guitarist/producer Jon Butcher (Barefoot Servants). Having met Custer in 2014, they formed a songwriting partnership that continues to thrive. This experience has enhanced his engineering skills, as well. Robert was born in Washington D.C. Reggie Painter - Guitar/Vocals Reggie Painter is from the Washington D.C. area. His love affair with the guitar began at the age of 12, when he began studying classical guitar and performing at D.C. recital venues, including the Kennedy Center. Inspired by guitarists such as Jimi Hendrix and Ritchie Blackmore, Reggie’s musical interests quickly turned to rock, and his bands, including Rainbeux and Spyce, were a staple in D.C.’s rock club scene, which included Georgetown’s legendary The Bayou. Reggie’s original music, on which he is guitarist and vocalist, has been featured on numerous network television shows (including Friday Night Lights) and in over 8,000 movie theater screens nationwide. And so does the story of the band Boston and its leader, Tom Scholz "We were just another band out of Boston" Not really true...but another great opening line. While they of course became a band, the majority of the music was written and recorded by Tom Scholz and Brad Delp in Scholz' basement studio in Massachusetts. Using many of his own special devices and techniques, they proceeded to create a sound unlike any that came before.
